Subject: Stopping "Tracking"
What do you all think about the various initiatives to curb or stop or make it easier to opt out of the various systems for "tracking" people as they move about the web?

I'm in favor of all of them, not just from a privacy point of view but also because they seem to me to be likely to benefit smaller publishers such as us.....

From a privacy point of view, good. I already make use of a couple of FireFox plugins to help somewhat on that front.

It may not help us if reduced effectiveness of targeting of ads results in lower eCPM. Large outlets will know their demographics and be able to target better without such explicit tracking I imagine, though the scientific advertising process known as "guessing".
